My driver's license says Ashley, but I grew up with "Ashe" written on my paper lunch bags among smiley flower doodles. You can call me either, but I think brown paper lunch bags with smiley flower doodles hold more weight legally, because nobody ever pays $100 to fake those.I'm an experimental artist from Los Angeles, California. I grew up on fingerpaints and Chuck Jones cartoons, and have been creating art ever since I first figured out that you could make pictures by throwing random things on other things. I prefer traditional mediums like crow quills and inks, pencils, acrylics and nailpolish, and non-traditional canvases like recycled cardboard and scrap pieces from broken journals and picture frames. While it's not my main career path, I do freelance commissions and other projects like concept art, album covers and crayon hand turkeys for extra income. When I'm not blogging or being creative, I work part-time as a hostess in a 40s-themed diner. In my free time, I enjoy fencing, hiking, writing original fiction and stealing lollipops from the deposit slip counter at the bank. I spend a lot of time hanging out with my best friends: a German Shepherd that trips over her own feet and a one-eyed Kai Ken with an underbite; I'm an avid supporter of dog rescue. My favorite things in this world include coffee, ponies, rock and roll, campy vampire shows and those giant black-and-white cookies from the deli that are the size of your head. I'm an aspiring paramedic and currently working towards my EMT certification. |
